To run the Bellum Aeternum client properly (.NET 8 build), please make sure your computer meets the following requirements:
Operating System Requirement
- Windows 7 SP1 or later (Windows 10/11 recommended).
Required Runtime (.NET 8)
- .NET 8 Desktop Runtime (matching your system architecture, usually x64).
If you are using Windows 10/11, .NET 8 Desktop Runtime is usually already installed, so no extra installation is needed.
Additional Components for Older Systems (Only Needed on Some Systems)
- Windows 7 SP1 / Windows 8.x: Install the latest Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable (both x86 and x64).
- Windows 7 SP1: If you encounter runtime issues, you may also need system update KB3063858.
Installation
Bellum Aeternum is a mod developed for Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2 Yuri's Revenge. Since the base game is not freeware, this website does not provide the original game. You can purchase it on Steam.
Step 1: Make sure your Red Alert 2 Yuri's Revenge is installed correctly and remains clean (without other mods).
Step 2: Download the Bellum Aeternum installer.
Step 3: Run the installer and follow the prompts. If you encounter issues, try running the installer as administrator.
Step 4: If you selected Create Desktop Shortcut, you will see the Bellum Aeternum icon on your desktop after installation. If not, you can run BELauncher.exe in the game directory as administrator to start the game.
For stable gameplay, we recommend setting your screen resolution between 1280x720 and 1920x1080.
How to Get the Latest Version
Bellum Aeternum has built-in auto-update, so when the client detects a new version, it will start the update process automatically.
You can also choose to update manually.
Manual Update Steps
Step 1: Open Settings on the client main screen.
Step 2: Click Upgrade and select a server.
Step 3: Click the Force Update button.

Q: What should I do if the game cannot start after installation?
A: Please make sure your system meets the Bellum Aeternum requirements and try running the game as administrator.
Q: Why do I get an RA2MD.CSF conflict warning when launching Bellum Aeternum?
A: RA2MD.CSF is the original Yuri's Revenge language file. Bellum Aeternum already includes multi-language compatibility. To avoid conflicts, delete RA2MD.CSF from your Yuri's Revenge root directory.
Q: I installed Bellum Aeternum, but nothing changed in-game. Why?
A: Please make sure you installed the latest version of Bellum Aeternum and that no errors occurred during installation. If the issue persists, reinstall Bellum Aeternum.
